Read-only connection

Binance portfolio tracker

Chain Glance connects to Binance with a read-only API key and shows your spot balances, trades and futures positions in the same portfolio as your on-chain wallets.

What syncs

What Chain Glance reads from Binance

Balances and history

  • Spot balances and trades
  • Deposits and withdrawals
  • Convert history
  • Futures positions and funding income

How it is stored

Your Binance holdings sit in the same portfolio as your on-chain wallets, not in a separate tab. Totals, allocation and transaction history cover both at once.

Futures activity syncs too, so a hedged position is not missing half of itself.

Setup

How to connect Binance

1

Create a read-only key at Binance

Sign in to Binance and create a read-only API key with read permission only. Leave trading and withdrawal permissions switched off.

Create the key at Binance
2

Copy the credential

Binance shows it once. Copy it before you leave the page, because you cannot read it back afterwards.

3

Paste it into Chain Glance

Open the Exchanges page, choose Binance, and paste the credential. Pick your region: Global or US.

4

Wait for the first sync

Chain Glance reads your balances and walks your history back to the start of the account. Transactions appear while the sync is still running.

Read-only, always. Chain Glance never asks for trading or withdrawal permission on your Binance account, and cannot move anything out of it. Revoke the key at Binance whenever you want and the connection simply stops.

Why Binance needs its own handling

Binance Global and Binance.US are separate accounts with separate keys. Pick your region when you connect, and Chain Glance walks the trade history one symbol at a time so transactions appear while the sync is still running.

Moving coins off Binance is not a sale

When you withdraw to a wallet you own, Chain Glance recognises the Binance withdrawal and the on-chain deposit as two sides of one transfer. Most trackers record them as a disposal and a fresh purchase, which is not what happened.

How transfer matching works

Binance questions

Does Chain Glance work with Binance.US?
Yes. Binance Global and Binance.US are separate accounts with separate API keys, so you choose your region when you connect. If you hold coins on both, connect them as two exchanges and they appear side by side.
Can Chain Glance trade or withdraw from my Binance account?
No. Chain Glance only reads. Create the key with read permission and leave trading and withdrawal switched off. If a key with wider permissions is pasted in, Chain Glance still only ever reads from it.
Why do my Binance transactions appear gradually?
Binance returns trade history one trading pair at a time, so Chain Glance walks your pairs in sequence. Rows show up while the sync is still running instead of arriving in one block at the end.
Are futures included?
Yes. Futures positions and funding income sync alongside your spot balances, so a hedged position is not missing half of itself.
What happens to coins I moved from Binance to my own wallet?
Chain Glance recognises the withdrawal and the matching on-chain deposit as one transfer between your own accounts rather than a sale followed by a purchase. How transfer matching works
